Get Involved

If you agree with us that 40% of the vote doesn’t cut it to elect a mayor, please join our grassroots campaign by volunteering, posting a lawn sign, writing a letter to the editor, donating, registering to vote, and voting no. Learn more using the links below.

Volunteer

Contact Helen Hossley at contact@50percentmatters.org or 660-9639 to volunteer and make sure that question #5 is defeated on election day.

Contribute

Backers of Question #5 are well financed and well organized. In order to keep majority rule voting in Burlington, we’re going to need the resources to set the record straight and get the vote out. Please make checks payable to 50% Matters and mail them to 325 Ethan Allen Parkway, Burlington, VT 05408.

Write a Letter to the Editor

Email the Burlington Free Press, Seven Days or the North Ave. News and tell them why you support our current system of Instant Runoff Voting.

If you are not already registered to vote in Burlington, please print out this form, fill it out, and bring it to City Hall to be added to the voter checklist.

Vote!

Election day is March 2, 2010. Please defend democracy and vote NO on Question #5. To request an absentee ballot, call City Hall at (802) 865-7000 or fill out this form and return it to City Hall.

The absentee voting deadline date is Mon, March 3/1, at 7:30 pm, at City Hall. City Hall will be open on Sat, 2/27 starting at 9a.m. until Noon for absentee voting only.
The City Clerks office strongly discourages requesting a ballot to be mailed to your home after Fri, 2/26 since it is so close to election day.
